Tipp Hill Shamrock Run (After)

Yesterday was the Tipp Hill Shamrock Run (4 miles). Watch my video recap below:

This year, the race had more than 3,500 finishers. Can you find me?

The race results are available here. The awards list is available here.

Runners negotiate the first curve

The race has become a big event in the area and many say it unofficially marks the beginning of Spring. Apparently, everyone got the message except for Mother Nature.

As I said above, the race runs through the Tipp Hill neighborhood of Syracuse (hence the name of the race).

The Blarney Stone

Aside from the Corporate Challenge, I believe the Shamrock Run is the biggest race in metro-Syracuse.

The youngest finishers this year were Liam Goodwin/George Lacombe (both 9) and Andrea Vigliotti (10). The oldest finishers were Chuck Schmutz/Robert Carafice (both 70) and Catherine McAndrew (80).

The winning times were 20:19 (Sam Morse) and 25:00 (Laura Kline).

Post-Race Thoughts

I was about a minute slower at the Shamrock Run than I would have liked. My legs were pretty shot – perhaps from the half marathon thirteen days earlier. Regardless, it was a good race and I think it will help me going forward. I had a fun time and I was happy to help represent the Strong Hearts Run Club.
